AWFS Fair 2017: DEKKER is "Here to Stay" as Vacuum Solutions Leader in Woodworking and Plastics

April 21, 2017 08:00 AM

Michigan City, IN (04/2017) – Plastics will take center stage at the AWFS®Fair 2017, the largest woodworking show in North America. AWFS says “plastics and plastic fabrication offer flexible and efficient solutions that are here to stay.” It’s also a fitting description of Dekker Vacuum Technologies. DEKKER is a world-leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of vacuum pumps and systems for the woodworking and plastics industry. DEKKER solutions are efficient, flexible, and here to stay.

DEKKER will be a returning exhibitor at Booth 9708 of the AWFS®Fair 2017, produced by the nonprofit Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers®, to be held July 19–22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The booth will be hosted by Rodney Weeks, West Coast U.S./Canada West Business Development Manager, and Rae Isbell, Applications Engineer.

DEKKER provides vacuum solutions for a wide range of wood and plastic applications, including:

- CNC Routing
- Drilling
- Engraving
- Laminating
- Milling
- Polishing
- Thermoforming
- Veneering

DEKKER Efficiency Masters Demanding Conditions

DEKKER is highly regarded as a first-source provider of vacuum technology for the woodworking and plastics market. “The dusty woodworking environment is one of the most severe industrial tests of vacuum pumps and systems,” Weeks said. “DEKKER stands out because it has the durability and design to deliver cost-effective, extremely efficient operation.”

While sawdust ingestion can break down other types of pump technology, DEKKER’s Vmax™ and Vmax VFD™ oil-sealed liquid ring vacuum pump systems, featuring the Titan series™ liquid ring pump (capacities from 35 to 5,000 CFM) are sawdust tolerant.

They can handle carryover of soft solids without damage to the internal parts of the pump, because they feature grease-lubricated external bearings isolated from the pumping chamber and no metal-to-metal contact inside the pumping chamber. Titan pumps tolerate sawdust and other contaminants far better than other vacuum pumps.

The Vmax VFD™ (variable frequency drive) can add significantly to the efficiency of the process through reduced energy consumption (turndown on power) when the pump is not in use. VFD also helps eliminate part slippage. As leakage increases during cutting, the pump increases speed to maintain constant pressure. The Vmax and Vmax VFD are the only systems on the market with a full 3-year warranty.

For larger capacity pumps, the Maxima-K series pumps feature capacities up to 39,000 CFM.

DEKKER also provides DuraVane™ 100% oil-free (dry) rotary vane vacuum pumps and systems (capacities from 2 to 100 CFM) and DuraVane™ lubricated rotary vane vacuum pumps and systems (capacities from 2 to 710 CFM) designed for woodworking, vacuum chucking and lifting applications.

DEKKER Flexible Solutions Through Innovation, Education

Innovation and education are at the top of the agenda at AWFS, as 15,000 professionals from around the world, representing every sector of the industry, have numerous opportunities to learn about new developments and the latest trends, and attend informative technical seminars.

DEKKER also relies on innovation and education to provide the flexibility to respond quickly and precisely to exacting customer needs.

Weeks said, “Innovation is a core value of the company. We innovate on practically every project, utilizing our application and design engineering expertise to create customized solutions.”

“We are also committed to using our extensive knowledge base to educate our customers on vacuum applications and products. The better our clients and the industry understand the potential of vacuum technology, the better they can benefit. The results of our efforts show in high customer satisfaction and repeat business.”

Weeks is a good example of the “human knowledge base” at DEKKER. He has 20 years of experience in mechanical sales, with a background in rotary equipment. Weeks specializes in vacuum technology for a wide range of applications including woodworking, thermoforming, graphic arts, and healthcare. He has worked in many capacities throughout his career in industrial distribution, as an area manager, and factory direct.

DEKKER: Partner to the Woodworking/Plastics Industry

Weeks added, “DEKKER has enjoyed a collaborative and sustaining relationship with the woodworking and plastics industry since the company was founded in 1998. AWFS helps DEKKER stay current on all the latest advances, so we can continue to offer world-class service. Attending AWFS is a commitment that says we are definitely here to stay.”
