November 9, 2015 08:58 AM

Charlie_12_7_2015Michigan City, IN [NOV – 2015] – Rick Dekker, CEO of DEKKER Vacuum Technologies, world leader in vacuum solutions, has announced the promotion of Charles Mitchell to President of the company. The appointment is effective November 1, 2015.

Mitchell was previously Vice President and General Manager at DEKKER. He has more than 20 years of experience in management, and served as President and CEO of Polygon Company in Walkerton, Indiana, for six years.

Dekker said that Mitchell will continue his concentration on operations and personnel management, with a greater emphasis towards sales. Mitchell’s expertise in these areas also enables Dekker, who was formerly both President and CEO, to focus on his top priorities as CEO – company vision, strategy and research and development.

“The vision for DEKKER Vacuum creates opportunities to grow our employees and our organization,” Dekker said. “Charlie is a highly skilled employee coach, and has been instrumental in establishing an environment where personal achievement and company success are reciprocal.”

“Our focus is on growth and continuous improvement,” Mitchell said. “Our sales force and employees will continue to have the tools and support structure they need to make good decisions and be more proactive in the marketplace by understanding what our customers are looking for.”

Dekker said the strategic plan will remain founded on the company’s core business – liquid ring vacuum pumps and systems under 1,000 to 1,500 CFM – while expanding industry awareness of the DEKKER Maxima line. The line features large capacity single-stage liquid ring vacuum pumps available up to 39,000 CFM, with vacuum capabilities up to 29” HgV.

“My role in operations is the tactical implementation of the company vision and strategy,” Mitchell added. “We want lead time that can’t be touched. We expect to not just meet but anticipate customer needs. We aim to be world-class every day. The market changes all the time, so the key is focus – to work on the goals that offer the greatest return.”

Established in 1998, DEKKER Vacuum Technologies manufactures vacuum pumps and systems for markets such as plastics, packaging, pharmaceuticals, laboratories, metal processing, food processing, chemical, power generation, aerospace and many others.
