Vmax - Adjusting The Vacuum Relief Valve

Valve Issue: How to adjust the vacuum relief valve

Each Vmax system is tested and checked at the factory prior to shipment to ensure trouble-free operation. In the unlikely event you encounter a problem, we recommend that you consult with your local distributor for parts/service. Remember, when calling for service, parts or system information, always have the pump or system model number and serial number ready.

WARNING! Before attempting any repairs, disconnect all power from the system by switching off power at the main breaker or disconnect switch. Always use appropriate Lock Out – Tag Out procedures.

The 1.25” vacuum relief valve is designed to thread into the inlet manifold of the vacuum system and have a silencer filter threaded over the valve to filter incoming air. If the vacuum relief valve has a silencer filter threaded onto it, unscrew the filter to expose the valve.

The vacuum relief valve is set by adjusting the spring tension by tightening or loosening the nut on the spring tension post. Tightening the nut will increase the amount of spring tension, which will require deeper vacuum to open the valve. Loosening the nut will decrease the amount of spring tension, which will require less vacuum to open the valve.
